TeXworks ⇒ Layout Error

Hello. I've recently installed TexWorks on my laptop and every time I open a .tex file I get an error message that says:

"A problem occurred while laying out the loaded document in the editor. This is caused by an issue in the underlying Qt framework and cause cause TexWorks to crash under certain circumstances. The symptoms of this problem are hidden or overlapping lines. To work around this, please try one of the following:
1) Turn syntax highlighting off and on
2) Turn line numbers off and on
3) Resize the Window

We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Moreover, TexWorks appears to crash every so often when I'm editing files. I've searched for related topics like this but haven't been able to find any answers. Any help would be much appreciated!
