Lyx installation on Mac

Hello,

Im trying get Lyx work on my Mac(sierra 10.12.1),
unfortunately, the preview doesn't work for me,
what makes the software not to work,

Welcome to the forum!

LyX bases on (La)TeX, so you have to install it as well. Install MacTeX on your Mac.

Hi!
I have installed Lyx and Mactex, I have run a Test in Texshop with some code and it works fine, but in Lyx all the packages are unavailable in the preferences.
Somehow the connection between Lyx and MacTex doesn´t seem to be activated. Do I have to establish that connection myself in some way?
In the preferences in TexShop there is al line saying "pdftex --file-line-error --synctex=1"
I use Mac OS Yosemite.

Edit: I ran an reconfiguration in Lyx, now it seems to be working. Thank you anyway!
