Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Overlapping characters in editor
Overlapping characters in editor
I have a problem with what I think is called the editor. Characters are overlapping like you can see on the screenshot. In addition I end up writing the wrong place because there seem to be some kind of shift between where I want to type (where the mouse is pointing) and where I am actually typing. This is terribly annoying as I write and delete things the wrong places. I guess there is just some simple options I can change, but I cant figure it out by my self or online. Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, that looks strange. Try choosing another font in the editor settings. If you would like to use another editor, Texmaker is similar. I prefer TeXworks though.

Ok, I downloaded Texmaker, looks normal there. Thank you!

I encountered the same problem, and was able to fix it by unplugging and plugging my second monitor back in.
(Apologies for bumping a thread marked as 'solved', but the answer wasn't really a solution. This is the first result on google for this problem so I thought I would give a solution that at least worked for me).

Unplugging and replugging my monitor did not work. I changed the editor font to "8514oem" and it seemed to work. Options>Configure TeXstudios>Editor>Font Family click 'show only monospaced fonts'
