PDF not showing on lyx screen anymore after 2.2.1 version

Post by PEMAMETAL »

Hello,

I was using the 2.1.4 version until last week when I decided to upgrade to 2.2.1. I am using a macbook pro OS x El Capitan.

Until last week I could see all pdf files on lyx screen. I could never see eps format, but since that is a format I hardly use, it was not bothering me, but now I get the message "error converting to loadable format" for both eps and pdf. When I generate the pdf by command+r all images are shown just fine.

I tried to delete Lyx and install everything again with no results.
I found this article https://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/FiguresInLyX, but I am not very familiar with command lines, also I tried to install ImageMagick's convert utility but damn! that thing is very complicated.

Does anyone know to solve this problem? I am writing a thesis, and that is very important to me!

Thank You

Paulo

Hi Paulo!

So, compiling to PDF works, just including images fails?

Can you post a log file, as attachment?

Furthermore, what did you check step by step in https://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/FiguresInLyX, and what was the output then? Which version of ghostscript do you have? You can verify it at the command line (Mac terminal application) via

gs --version
