General ⇒ citation in text as: author (year:pages)

Dear all,

Is there a way to get citations in a text look like this: "Jones et al. (1993:234-55)". I've looked through the variants of \cite within Natbib (and googled) but couldn't really find anything...

Any advice and comments are greatly appreciated..
