So I opened a Revtex template that contains only 600 characters, when I scroll using either Trackpad or Arrow keys, it lags. It seems I am using a PC as old as my grand father. But no, I can say I got a mid range laptop.
Specs:
Lyx 2.1.4
Fedora 21 x86_64
Core i5
Ram 6 Gig
Hdd 600 Gig
Intel HD 4000 (I can play hard core games here when I switch to Windows)

Also note that things should be slightly improved for 2.2.0. The second alpha version has just been released if you want to test:
