book (tufte) or an another class

Post by clavigula »

hallo,

I'm absolute a beginner in the Latex world. I want to write a praxis guideline with a similar style like the head first books from O'Reily. So I think the class book (tufte) would be the right one. I'm also going to need reverence lists about literatur (bibliography etc), figures and an index. Is this possible in book (tufte) or would it better to use an another class?

thanks and sorry for my bad english

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

The documentclass just defines the general layout of your document. All the features you need are basic LaTeX features, customizable using packages.

google translate gives quite good results ;-)
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
