Unnecessary change in font type

Post by ubuntu2014 »

Many times, while using Kile, I have noticed that two same fractions, if written twice, appear differently. I mean to say that the line between the numerator and the denominator is thicker in one fraction and normal in the other. It also happens when some other kind of formulae are written in Kile (unnecessary bold fonts). Initially I thought that there might be some issue in the LaTeX code, but after opening the document in other editors such as TeXMaker and LaTeXila, it just worked fine. Has anyone else noticed the same in Kile ? Can the reason be that I am using Kile in a non-KDE environment ?

It can be a viewer issue. With Kile, you perhaps use Okular. With Texmaker, I guess an internal previewer. Open both with Okular and another PDF reader such as the adobe reader or xpdf. And check with higher zoom. Sometimes PDF viewers differ in rendering. Finally, the paper print is relevant, or what common and widely used PDF viewers show if electronically distributed.
