Conference Templates

Post by lastsurvivor »

Hi,

I am a machine learning researcher and I am enjoying using Lyx for writing technical reports to keep up my progress.

However, it would be terrific if Lyx would provide automatic templates for scientific conferences such as ICML, NIPS.

Is this planned in short-term future?

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Welcome to the forum!

Are there already LaTeX templates for those conferences? Often conferences or journals provide their own templates. They could be converted to LyX layouts. Though it can be a lot of work.

You could work with LaTeX though, for such specific purpose, even if you generally work with LyX otherwise. Getting more knowhow with LaTeX is great for tuning LyX documents.

Hi,

Thanks for prompt answer. Indeed, there are .tex templates along with class files for those conferences. Is there any tutorial/material explaining the layout conversion?
