Reduce vertical Space before Chapter Title

Post by zanii »

Hi all,

I am somehow new to LaTeX whereas I am using it (xelatex) to write my PhD thesis using the modified template from Harvard University. Unfortunately the PDF created produces a massive vertical space which forces the chapter summary to be produced in the second page. I want to move the chapter title some spaces up and hence reduce blank vertical space.

I have spent almost two days trying to figure this out and nothing is up until to this moment, henceforth, any help will be much appreciated.

I have attached my harvard.cls, thesis.tex, as well as coverpage.
