General ⇒ Can you edit/write chinese using latex?

the chinese latex files can be convert to pdf files. and the pdf files display chinese characters well.

but these latex files can NOT display chinese characters well. they are not readable.

As far as I know there is a very active Chinese LaTeX user base. To me this seems that writing LaTeX files in Chinese should very well be possible.
