TeXShop crashes when a TeXShop window is active then I double-click on a .tex file to open it

GREETINGS!!!!
As I am working on a TeXShop document, TeXShop crashes when I then decide to double-click on a .tex file to open it. Again, if I am working inside of TeXShop, typing whatever, or just reading my script, or if I close that document while others are open (doesn't seem to matter)... and I see that in my Finder window, there is a .tex file that I double-click to open, TeXShop crashes. I have to wait 0.3-ish seconds before I double-click. I think the issue is that TeXShop is writing to file (like an instant Auto-Save)... but I don't have this crash problem with other software. I just installed TeXShop (after a computer refresh) and it already crashes. I didn't see any threads when I searched the community on this issue. This is driving me nuts because by force of habit, if I say "No, it's not in this one..." and I double-click on another .tex in the same folder, bam, TeXShop crashes

Address this problem to the TeXShop maintainers. We can only help with configuration issues. The main purpose of this forum is support in LaTeX related problems, not with software.

The only thing I can advise is to make sure that the concerned file is not corrupted. Try to open it with another text editor.
