Adobe: PDF is missing "codes"?

Post by MonsieurJoey »

Hi all,

So recently I bought a new laptop (with Windows 8) and on that laptop, I am unable to display my LaTeX-made PDFs correctly. The page formatting seems to be alright, however, the font is really crappy. I have a screenshot attached. Also, it gives me a pop-up saying the PDF is missing certain codes and therefore, it'll try its best to display it correctly.
The strange thing is that when I open the PDF on a random other computer, it does show me the fancy LaTeX standard font.

Does any of you maybe know how to solve this problem? Google was not really helping e out on this one. I'm sorry if the topic is not in the right category, hopefully a kind moderator will then move it for me. Thanks for your help in advance!

Reason: scaled image down to a reasonable size so it can be viewed on smaller screens, too

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p
