Graphics, Figures & Tables ⇒ Quote Box/Big First Letter

Hello all,

Just picked up latex to typeset some review e-copies of a non-fiction book I've been working on. Have two problems but I think I'm looking for the same command to do both operations.

I can't figure out how to:

A. Make a bigger first letter to chapter content and have the normal size text continue to wrap next to it. I tried using parbox but it only lines up with the continuing line of text and the next line gets pushed below it

B. Make a non-bordered "text box" (sorry for the MS Word reference) to highlight one sentence/major thought within the text.

I attached some pictures of examples from a book I found to better explain what I'm looking for

Like I said I figure these both will be an application of the same command, but I can't seem to figure out what works. Any help would be great!

Hi jbend,

For the “Make a non-bordered "text box"” I'd use wrapfig. Then there's also Peter Wilson's cutwin.
