Fonts & Character Sets ⇒ Missing Font Configuration File

I have been using LaTeX on and off for the past few years. I have recently installed MiKTeX on Windows 8, using WinEdt 7.1 as an editor.

One of the packages I always have in my documents is wasysym, but this time I have an error message every time I use it together with the \maketitle command. The log message reads like this.

If I remove the \maketitle command, the document is processed fine.

Any ideas about how I can solve the problem? I am not a very professional user, so please give me detailed instructions.
