Hello
is there a permanent automatic backup function in LyX? I'd like to it use for my thesis but it crashed twice in the few times I opened it yet since installing (Mac OSX LyX 2.0). I just read the tutorial and played around but that's not acceptable for important assignments.
Thanks in advance

Re: Automatic Backup
Perhaps use a LaTeX editor. There are several very good editors also for the Mac.
Regarding LyX, if it doesn't work for you, it's sad but then just don't use it. You did not pay anything for it, it's a free program without warranty. In any way it would be good to keep being respectful regarding free work of others. Use the LyX bugtracker or the LyX maling lists, available via http://lyx.org, if you are serious about reporting and fixing errors.

ist4000,
Sounds frustrating. LyX should not be crashing and Stefan is right that a detailed bug report is the right way to go.
As for backing up, if by chance you know git or svn, see 7.2 Version Control in LyX in the Additional manual.
Hope you get something figured out!
