in the meanwhile I've added the Wikibook to the link list, thank's again for your suggestion.
The Wikibook contains much material from books already listed, but it's a different medium and perhaps it could even be improved by our members.
Further I've left a note their inviting users to contribute their ideas using this thread opened by you.

that's right, but today there are better alternatives. The mentioned site is using for instance commands that are obsolete since 1996 (LaTeX 2.09), it's just too old. It's dated 1994, LaTeX has been improved since then and I would prefer documentation and references that describe the most recent commands, classes and packages.metric wrote:this page can also be helpful for the beginners, and can serve as a quick reference
