Hi,
I want to create a new bst.file. It should include the bibstyle our chair uses and has only written down in Word. However, I'm not that new to Tex, but here's what puzzels me:
In makebst, I get first:
'I can't write on makebst.log'
I provide the full path, and makebst starts. At the point, when I'm asked to provide the output-file, I get:
'I can't write on XXX.bst'
OK, then, I want to create it in docstrip:
-----------
When I want to create the file into which the new style definition is to be written in, I use docstrip, which starts with:
'I can't write on docstrip.log'
OK, so I created a new docstrip.log and provide the full path to Tex which leads to acceptance. Then, going through the 4 steps, the old infile extension is mbs, the outfile extension should be tex, options are bblbst and next comes filelist: When I provide "merlin" I get:
'I can't write on merlin.tex'
When typing another name, I get the same.
------------
I am using MikTex 2.9.4116 on Win7 Prof, 64bit, and I - and thats what I assume has gone wrong - installed MikTex to the Programme(X86) folder.
So heres the question: Is there a problem in installing to the Programme(X86) folder maybe in writing access etc? And if not.. Please be so kind to provide a hint of whats gone wrong.
Regards, H.

Re: makebst and docstrip "Could not write on..."
Hi again,
seems a new installation to another folder was the solution. However, docstrip runs, makebst lets me answer the questions, but in the end of the procedure, when tex should I get:
'Batch job written to babelbst.dbj'
Now it should be easy, but: When I let Tex run the batch job, I get again:
'I can't find file *.djb'
But its there, in the folder, well, so says the Windows search function.
If you have any ideas, what has gone wrong at this stage, I would be quite a happy bunny.
Thanks for helping,
H.

Re: makebst and docstrip "Could not write on..."
Can be closed, solution was another installation without any spaces in the MikTex 2.9-folder name.
Thanks, H.
