Latest LyX binary for Windows 2000

Post by Pointertovoid »

Hello everyone and everybody!

I'm just a rusty user of Windows 2000 with no plan to change that (call this position as you want) and I'd like to know what's the latest version of LyX that runs on it.

You guessed: I'm a typical Windows user - for me, version means binary.

I've found no information at the LyX site. The latest v2.0.3 needs Xp sp3, that's all. Their forum doesn't tell neither.

v1.6.10 refuses to install. v1.6.8-2 does install but can't run as it was compiled with Visual Studio 2010 not setting the compatibility options. v1.5.4 runs.

So the limit must be between v1.5.4 and v1.6.8, but where? I don't want to download each version (40MB) to try...

Sorry if this has already been discussed, I didn't find it then.
And many thanks!
