"Quick Build" does not update PDF Output

Post by Gauss Mouse »

Hi, I'm a bit of a noob at this stuff and I have no idea how to fix my problem. It's probably a simple problem. I'm using Texmaker (I think it's 3.3.3) and MikTex 2.9 on Windows 7. When I click "quick build", all that happens is both green arrows (those for "quick build" and "view PDF") turn grey and unclickable. Then it looks like everything has built and I can click "view PDF" and see the PDF. However, what I see is the last version of the document that existed before Texmaker stopped working. So if I edit the document it has no effect.

I guess I should uninstall Texmaker and MikTex? I uninstalled Texmaker by the usual "control pannel>>uninstall a program" method. I tried this method with MikTex and I got the message "An error occured while trying to uninstall MikTex 2.9. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove MikTex 2.9 from the programmes and features list?" I have not uninstalled MikeTex.

What I'd really like to do is remove everything to do with MikTex and Texmaker and start over. Is there an easy way to do that?

The first thing you have to check is how your quick build has been set up. It might be because you have missed out on a simple process which is needed for the pdf to be updated and printed.

Or, there might be some errors along the way which constitutes to how they are not sequentially going okay. Why don't you run them through manually to see how that would work.
