beamer | Handling for Columns

Post by lifeisabug »

I am having a very basic question. How do I interact with the columns environment in LyX using the beamer class?

I create a new frame, then I select the columns environment from the drop down menu (top left). What key bindings do I have to use to create a Column? Simply selecting it from the same drop down box doesn't work as it will overwrite the previous columns selection and thus removing the columns environment. Enter and the mentioned selection doesn't work either as it automatically closes the columns environment.
I have a working example in LyX but i cant figure out it had been created nor can I reproduce or modify it by adding additional columns.

I tried any combinations of Tab/Enter/Space with modifiers I could think of.

What I am trying to achieve can bee seen in this screenshot
