Hello.

I am not so new in the community and to LaTeX either, however I recently discovered this and said I have to say hello. I started learning LaTeX when taking a math course and an advanced fellow (younger than me!) asked me about the design of slides for a presentation. I was honest and told him: "Oh, I got some nice ones in PowerPoint". This guy almost spits on my face (it was an advanced math course and the guy is the star of the CS department) and with contained anger told me: I don't use that, I will use LaTeX. Later of course, after some conversation I could pull out from him where to go, keywords for the thing and here I am now. With your help (and CTAN and other blogs around) I have completed formatting my first paper.
Of course, I am not a LaTeX's master but I'm on track. Beauty is basic for every new development.

(La)TeX has a strange attraction for zealots. With Linux getting domesticated as we speak, TeX is perhaps the last bastion for this sort of people. Just watch out that you don't become one of them.
