General ⇒ Projects and Navigator

I was wondering if it is possible to use the navigator for files that are *not* the main project files for a given project. I have a project that involves working on numerous files but the navigator appears to be associated only for one file, the main one. And under the "Files" tab it just shows the main file. Can I add more? Or does that depend on what files are included in the actual main file document using e.g. the \include command?
