Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Compilation fails

Dear Community,

I cannot seem to compile anything in Texmaker. I have installed and re-installed both MiKTeX and Texmaker because the first time I installed Texmaker first. However I still receive the following errors:

Could not start the command
Log File not found!

I've seen various instructional videos online and read various posts but I cannot seem to solve this problem. I've tried the PdfLaTeX + View PDF and User option in the Configure Texmaker Quick Build Command window as well as the built in or external PDF viewer.

Any suggestions on what I should do are welcome

Hi Steve,

MiKTeX provides also the TeXworks editor. Perhaps give that one a try.
Otherwise you could post the Texmaker settings (perhaps screenshot) or any more detailed information such as error messages and .log file, if produced.
