Open multiple files AND rearrangeable file tabs

Post by craigim »

When I'm working on a multi-file project (say, my thesis), I often have 4-5 files open because I jump back and forth between them. Once they're open and the project knows I want them open, that's fine. But if I want to work on a different set of files, I have to open them one at a time. It would be so much easier if I could open the 'open file' dialog, and then select multiple files and have them all open.

In that same vein, once all those files are open, I'd like to be able to drag and drop the tabs to reorder them.

I agree on the second part: Rearrangeable tabs would be a big improvement for the useability. It would be perfect if there was kind of a sort button which derives the tab order from the order in which the files are read in by latex. At least this is what I would have found _very_ useful.

The multiple file opening IMHO has much lower priority.

Cheers
