Start 0 when using \section

Post by bowie »

Hello,

can somebody please tell me how to get rid of the leading zeros when using \section ?

My sections look like that:

0.1 Intro
0.2 Bla
0.2.1 bla bla
0.3 bla

and so on

I just want:

1 Intro
2 Bla
2.1 bla bla
3 bla

Can't be that difficult ?

I assume you are using one of the documentclasses book or report (or the equivalent classes from KOMA Script). Use the documentclass article instead. It does not support chapters and your sections will be numbered as wanted.

Code: Select all

\documentclass[12pt,a4paper]{article}
\usepackage{blindtext}

\begin{document}
  \blinddocument
\end{document}

Before the "section"s, you should use "chapter"s, shouldn't you? Please correct me whether I'm wrong.
