Bring Back "Save As"

Post by mrotsliah »

Can Texshop bring back the Save As option under the File menu in Lion? Is it even possible to just add it back to the File menu? I have seen other programs that run on Lion that still have the Save As option. The Duplicate option that Lion uses is not as quick and easy to use as Save As. Duplicate has its place, but it does not replace Save As.

With Save As, I can just click Save As (or command-shift-s), rename the file, hit Enter, and the new file will be in the same folder as the original file and with the same extension.

With Duplicate, I have to click Duplicate (there is no short cut), rename the file, change the extension (from .txt to .tex), search for the folder that the original file was in, and then save. Also, I have to close the original file.

If possible, please bring back Save As. Thanks

Since this question is not related to the LaTeX typesetting system, it is better addressed to the TeXShop developers to give them a chance for a fix.
