Getting Introduction into the ToC

Post by markito86 »

Hi,

I am writing my thesis with LyX, but I have some problems. The class is book, but after the ToC I would like insert a page of introduction, a sort of abstract. I have organized the thesis in some files (child document). After inserting this page in the main, in which way I can introduce it in the ToC?

How did you insert it? It depends on whether it's a section or section* (etc.) and what your documentclass demands.

There is an \addcontentsline command that I suspect you will have to use, but without an example I can't be of more help.
