beamer forward slide by mouse click

Post by Ravi »

Hello,
My name is Ravi and I am a student of engineering.
I would like to join this forum with an absolutely beginner question.

In a pdf document obtained with beamer latex, the output is fine and professional looking. But in order to navigate through the presentation, I note that I have to use the navigation symbols at the bottom of each slide. This is really helpful. But during a live presentation, it would be more convenient to advance forward with a mouse click, for example. How is this possible to obtain this with beamer latex? Ideally, during the live presentation, I would like to use the mouse click. Afterwards, I would like to have the facility of switching on the navigation symbols for quick movement to a particular slide.

In the tutorial and other help material that I have seen, there appears to be no mention of this. In my circle of acquaintances, everybody uses powerpoint. I am interested to know how beamer presentations can be made user frienly in this respect.

Thanking you,

Ravi

This is down to the PDF viewer. Normally, displaying full screen, PageDown will take you to the next frame, as will the Left arrow.

beamer forward slide by mouse click

As Joseph already pointed out, it concerns the viewer. For example, Okular on my Linux system allows me in presentation mode (full screen mode) to browse the slides simply by using the left or right mouse button to move forward or backward, respectively. Even turning the mouse wheel up and down does the trick. That's how I did my last beamer presentation.

Best regards and welcome to the board
