Multiple Exercises in a Row

Post by ecdemic »

Apologies in advance for what is probably a trivial question. I'm working on a textbook (using the book class) which has plenty of exercises (using the exercise environment). The exercises are numbered sequentially. The numbering works fine when I have standard text in between two exercises. But when there are two exercises back-to-back, I can't figure out how to tell LyX where the one exercise ends and the other one begins. A return doesn't do it. My best work-around so far is to type a "%" in TeX code (using the standard environment) in between two paragraphs in the exercise environment, but this appears to introduce a bit of vertical space, which does not look so good. Any assistance would be much appreciated. By the way, I'm using LyX 2.0.1 on a Mac OS 10.6.8. Thanks.
