Plain TeX horizontal squared Bracket

Post by gerovital »

I would be most grateful if someone could tell me how can I draw a horizontal, lengthening, square bracket. That is, the brackets [ and ], but displaced horizontally to my convenience. I need them to mark vacuum and chronological contractions in a paper I am writing. Thank you!
