Hi,
I'm new on this forum. I've registered myself because I have a problem with MiKTeX.
I wanna use LaTeX on a PC that isn't connected with the internet. Is there it possible? So I have installed MiKTeX, but it doesn't wanna compile.
Thanks

Re: Use MiKTeX without Internet Connection
You'll need to install all files MikTeX needs (e.g., .sty files) to a location MikTeX can find. You can copy these over on removable media and then tell MikTeX to re-hash the file list. Or you can copy the needed package files to your local TeX tree and use them that way. The choice is yours.
MikTeX doesn't actually need an Internet connection---it just uses it automagically to download files if it can't find them locally. After they're installed, you can be in a cave in Antarctica and still use MikTeX, assuming you don't try to use a LaTeX package that isn't installed.

Use MiKTeX without Internet Connection
It is possible to download the whole MiKTeX system by the MiKTeX Net Installer to a portable storage medium. Then you are able use the installer to install and maintain a MiKTeX system on an arbitrary machine. Instead of selecting a remote server as package repository, choose the portable medium. Whenever you have access to the net, you can download updated packages by the installer. It will only load those packages which have been updated to the once chosen directory on the portable medium. With the update mechanism of the installed MiKTeX system you can choose the portable medium as repository and keep the system on the machine without internet connection up to date. Finally you could consider to use MiKTeX Portable.Loki1986 wrote:[…] I wanna use LaTeX on a PC that isn't connected with the internet. Is there it possible?
