overpic | Place boxed Content

Post by jon_createDa »

Im using \usepackage[percent]{overpic} together with\put to overwrite an existing PDF page containing notes created elsewhere.

Basically on each line I put \put(0,98)[%something%] but the problem is I want to box some writing on two lines using \boxed and it can only do it on one line?

can someone think of an alternative to get round this?

It would help if you build a minimal example that shows what you are doing. The \boxed command from the amsmath package only works in math mode. If want to have text wrapped into two (or more) lines in a framed box, you have to use a \parbox of a certain width framed by a \fbox.

Code: Select all

\put(1,2){\fbox{\parbox{10em}{The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.}}}

Best regards and welcome to the board
