Use of JasaTeX Class

Post by currentenglish »

Hi All,

I've searched topics and tried for hours, but I just can't seem to solve my problem.

I'm attempting to use a document class for preparation of a scientific journal paper. The class can be found at the following link: ftp://ftp.aip.org/asa/. If you are unsure of the authenticity of the ftp, you can get to the ftp from the JASA website with this link: http://asadl.org/jasa/for_authors_jasa, and then select "Download files for preparation of JASA manuscripts in TeX format".

I'm using MikTex 2.8 and TeXnicCenter. The installation of the document class appears to be correct. I've copied the files to the appropriate folders, and Refreshed FNDB in the MiKTeX options. Upon compilation of the sample Tex file included in the download, it finds no errors and no warnings. However, it does not create any PDF file, and says "I couldn't open file name jasasamp.aux".

When changing the document class to article/book/any other standard class, it compiles.

Does anyone have any clues on what my problem might be?

Thanks.
