Thesis divided into Parts and Chapters

Post by luigimalago »

Hello forum,

a simple question. In a thesis, do you usually enter text between the title of a part and the title of the chapter? I know of course usually you add text between chapter title and first section, but don't know if I can in the other case.

I have this question, since I would like to write two introductory paragraphs for part I and part II of my thesis but I don't know where to place them. Maybe in the abstract? Or a separate chapter before part I and part II?

thanks lot for your help,
luigi
