LyX and Math Project

Post by yaya10 »

Hello everyone,

I do my master in Mathematical science and I have a project now and I have been asked to use LaTeX but it seems difficult for me.

So, I have decided to use LyX as an editor. My question is does LyX do whatever I want to complete my project.

I bet you know what maths projects look like. Your help and advice will be highly appreciated

Hi,

LyX works well and would be fine for a math document. If you work with usual layouts working with LyX is easy and gives good documents. However, it could become complicated if you would like to produce design which isn't directly supported. In such cases you may have to use LaTeX anyway, which is possible within your LyX project.

I guess for somebody doing a master degree in math it would be easy to learn LaTeX. Further I assume LaTeX could be beneficial on a long sight for a mathematician. I encourage you to give LaTeX a try!
