LyX ⇒ /graphicspath doesn't work

I'm currently writing a thesis using latex, having migrated from kile to lyx. I like to be able to keep my figures and my .tex/.lyx files in seperate folders for organisation purposes. In kile all I needed to do was to inlude \graphicspath{{./figures/}} at the beginning of the document so that it would know to find the figures in the 'figures' folder. However, this doesn't work in lyx. It will only show figures if the lyx file is in the same directory as the figures.

Is there any way to fix this problem?
