by looking through some random stuff on flickr (or deviantart, can't remember), I had a funny thought recently: Is it possible to create an "arty"-looking PDF file based on a picture file (JPG or PNG or ...) by using TikZ or PSTricks?
I've never dealt with stuff like this before, but maybe a program could work like software listed on here (texample.net/tikz/resources/). Software that would be able to "read" a picture file and then produce some .tex-output and later on some other software, e. g. Jpgfdraw, could convert this output into some huge TikZ picture that would, in detail, consist only of arrow shapes or so. This picture would then of course have some abstract touch to it because of the arrow shapes.
This was just a random thought. I thought why not ask, that's all.

If there is some interesting (and hopefully useful) info on that available somewhere, a link would be sufficient.
