spell checker

Post by omkardpd »

Hi,

I have been having real hard time getting my documents spell checked. I have installed TexMaker and Aspell. But I do not get any error message for any spelling mistake even if I see a mistake in my document. My guess is, the spell checker is not configured. Can someone help me in configuring spell checker?

Thank you,

Omkar

Hi Omkar,

did you click in the menu on Edit/ Spell Checking? It will be checked if you give that command, not as you type.
You will find the spell checker settings over the menu with Options/ Configure TeXmaker and choosing Editor on the left of the appearing dialog window. Check if there is written aspell as command, the language (en) and your input encoding.

Hi,

I checked with "Edit/ Spell checking" option too. But nothing works, it just scans the document and closes the window. Please check the screen shot of editor. I guess the settings are correct.

Thank you,

Omkar

Hi Omkar,

the settings seem to be ok. You could try to call aspell from the command line to see if it's working at all.

To conclude with this topic, it was solved here by updating TeXmaker. The new version uses Hunspell instead of aspell.
