Hi,
For some week now I'm experiencing problems when I want to install new packages in MikTeX 2.8. The "package installation on the fly" gives me an the following error:
"pdflatex.exe: Data: connect failed in tcp_connect()"
The package updater also gives an HTTP error regardless the package I try to download and install.
I've even tried changing the package server (http://miktex.org/pkg/repositories) but it keeps throwing an HTTP error. I guess the problem lies at these package servers but I'm not sure.
I've never had this problem before. Does anyone experience the same problem as I do???

Re: MikTeX package installation failure
Make sure that the server of your choice is not offline. Otherwise choose another one by the MiKTeX Options or the MiKTeX Package Manager.

Re: MikTeX package installation failure
I've tried several different online servers and used ports 20 for FTP servers and 80 for HTTP servers but it still doesn't work.
When I open the package servers in my browser, I can navigate through the packages though.
This is very frustrating.
Is there really no one with similar issues?

Re: MikTeX package installation failure
If all your efforts have been without success, this question is better addressed to the MiKTeX maintainer.
