Trouble with custom-bib

Post by greenpatriot »

I recently downloaded miktex2.9 - now I cannot use custom *.bst files that I made using the custom-bib package. I get the following errors:
I couldn't open style file *.bst
---line *** of file *.aux
: \bibstyle{*
: }
I'm skipping whatever remains of this command
I found no style file---while reading file *.aux
I've done everything I can think of (downloaded latest version of custom-bib, made new *.bst file, refreshed repository database etc), but I am not an expert at programming.

Help?!

Many thanks,

-N

okay, so apparently Miktex 2.8 was much more forgiving re: Local Tex files. With 2.9, I needed to create a second sub-folder inside my Local Tex File folder for bibtex; i.e. Local Tex Files\bibtex\bst\misc. I didn't need to do that with 2.8 but oh well.
