Page Layout ⇒ textblock and itemize competition

Dear forum,

I have encountered a surprising problem with the environment textblock and itemize for which i would appreciate some advise.

I am preparing a presentation using a4 landscape layout. On each slide there are 3 things:
1) on the top right corner I have added a minmap from tikz. Inside one of the node there is a word that is too long and either cut by /tikz or pushed too lateral. So my solution was to delete that word from the node and add the word as a textblock (second thing)
2) inside the mindmap there is word added by a textblock environment
3) there is another textblock environment, with an itemize environment inside, to fill the slide with important material.

Point 1) and 3) worked just fine together until I added 2).

From that point on (that is on all successive pages), the bullets of the itemize environment appear but not the words.

Would anyone:
- have a solution
- have an explanation
