Display left/right padding adjustment

Post by pldaniels »

I am wondering, for my wife, if it's possible to adjust the left/right screen padding (margin) in LyX (using 2.0 RC at the moment). With a 24" 1920x1200 screen the text tends to get a bit wide to view effectively when maximised.

Obviously one could reduce the size of the LyX application to the desired width but this then reveals the background/desktop items which isn't desired.

Regards,
Paul.

I'm thinking, what would be more effective is to be able to specify (roughly) the number of chars for the display-text (eg, ~72 chars). This isn't anything to do with the rendered output, it's merely about the visual comfort of the workspace while punching in the text :)

After spending some time paging through the LyX help I found that I can do what I want using the full-screen mode.

So I guess that makes this SOLVED :)
