Beamer won't compile in WinEdt

Post by clmarsh »

Hello,

I installed new programs on my computer, WinEdt6.0, MikTeX2.9, and the beamer package as of 7/2010. My problem is that my article class documents all compile, no problem, but I can't get any of my beamer slides to compile. The beamer package shows up in my MiKTex Package Manager, but when I try to update it, I get a window that says "the update helper could not be found"

I have attached the log file from my attempts to compile a beamer .tex file. Thank you very much for any suggestions.
