Windows API 6 error

Post by patrikb »

Hi, first i'm new to latex so everyone knows.

Well the problem is when I write the a test document and want to make it a pdf I get the error: pdflatex windows api 6 error: the handle is invalid. And I do not know why. The problem occur whether I use TeXnicCenter or Texmaker.

Here is a link to a picture that shows what I have written + the error (texmaker and texniccenter)

Would be real nice to get it all working so I could start learning how to use it.

I guess something is wrong with your Miktek installation. You should reinstall it.

Still getting the same error, even downloaded miktex (complete version) all over again but when it finished downloading it asked (said) if it were correctly installed. I could choose between it was installed correctly or reinstall using recommended settings. I chose the latter which started the miktex install, but I'm pretty sure the same would have happened if I chose it was correctly installed.

EDIT:
Just updated miktex after reading some other posts on the internet. I now succeeded in making the test document and convert to pdf using pdflatex in texmaker.

Now that the problem is solved, please be so kind and mark the topic (not the last post) accordingly as written in Section 3 of the Board Rules (to be read before posting). Please keep that in mind for the future so that further reminders will not be necessary.

Best regards and welcome to the board
