LyX ⇒ 2 sided document issues

Hi,

I use Lyx 1.6.5, and Im writing a document, Im using the book class, and I have each chapter in one file and a main where I join everything. When I compile everything there's no problem, but when I check the 2 sided document (in the main file), it adds some space where it shouldnt. Some images will have a huge vertical space before and after it, and some itemize text will also receive a huge space between items...unchecking the 2 sided document, everything returns to normal...

I need to have it in the 2 sided document, coz I'll print it and it has to be on both sides and have all the proper layout...

Does anyone have any idea of what is happening...it's my thesis and it's driving me crazy...
