Installation PSTricks and MacTeX

Post by coachbennett1981 »

I did not know where to post this. My computer, a mac had to have the OS re-installed this weekend. I have loaded MacTex on, but I tried a PSTRICKS example and got the following errow message:
./pstricks.tex:1: LaTeX Error: Two \documentclass or \documentstyle commands.

See the LaTeX manual or LaTeX Companion for explanation.
Type H <return> for immediate help.

l.1 \documentclass[12pt]{article}
?
I have been reading all night, but I have no idea how I installed PSTRICKS to begin with. Can anyone explain how I can install PSTRICKS for Mactex. Step by step?

Nick

Hi Nick,

don't give the name pstricks.tex to your own LaTeX document because it's already used by the pstricks package. This can stop the compilation.

Thank you both. I realized this after I first saved this to pstricks, then changed the name to graph, and still nothing. I then just opened a new file called it WORK and it did.

Thank you so much. I know it seems like a dumb question, or an easy fix, but you both saved me on this.

Very appreciated,

Nick
