General ⇒ Loss of colours in jpeg/png picture when compiling a ps file

Hello, I use Latex in texnicenter with gsview and I would like to generate a .ps file which include images in jpeg or png format. But when I do this in texnicenter, the resulting pictures are only in black and white in the .ps file. To keep the colours, I have to use the eps format for the picture, but the quality is very bad.

The loss of the colours with the jpeg/png format is normal ? Otherwise, what could produce this kind of bug ?
