LyX ⇒ Appendix proofs

Hi. Often in my field proofs of theorems go in the appendix.
So:
In main text:
Theorem x
In appendix:
Proof of Theorem x.

Can this be done in LyX? If I enter a proof in the appendix it will output "Proof." and the full stop prevents me from adding "of [reference to theorem x]".

In the proof environment, right-click, select "insert short title", then type in the box "Proof of theorem x"
