hi from London

Post by al.adab »

hello everyone!

completely new to Lyx but happy to have the opportunity to learn to use it. It looks great and it seems to feel at home in Lubuntu 10.04.

At the moment there are a only couple of things I'm not sure I understand (I don't seem to find an answer in the user's guide so I'll probably create separate posts of each of them):

- how can I make sure I can open my Lyx files wherever I am / send them as email attachment to Microsoft Word or OpenOffice users (compatibility issue?);
- why PDF files created through File>Export are basically unreadable - you need to keep zooming to be able to read the text and the characters don't look particularly clear (even though I have latex-xft-fonts installed and set the fonts on "Latin Modern").

Anyway, it's great to join the Lyx community!

The »New Members« area is meant to be only for short introductions but not for posting actual issues. So, please take the relevant part of your post here and place it in the appropriate sub-forum called »LyX«.

Good luck for your work with LyX. Let's hope that the results will be satisfactory.

Best regards and welcome to the board
